Paris and the French Riviera

Back in 2011 a group of 13 like minded Australians set off under the guidance of Suzette Boyd and the help of East Burwood Travel to see the sights of France.

Off we go.....

Off we go…..

The tour was designed by Suzette to introduce us to some of the lesser known highlights of Paris where we stayed at the lovely Hotel Castex, Marais – in the 4e arrondissement. This is an area rich in history and contains some of the best boutiques, bistros, galleries,  museums and gardens around the city of Paris.

Look! Where are we again?

Look! Where are we again?

This was contrasted with the delights of Nice and the Cote d’Azure where we explored the surrounding areas of Antibes, Cannes and Monaco where we appreciated why so many artists were attracted to the area.

Traveling as a small group enabled flexibility, free time for discovery and exploration independently or in small groups with or without guidance.

Since 2011 we have all kept in touch via email and frequent get togethers in Hawthorn, Camperdown, Como House for the Paris to Provence Festival and today in North Balywn where we decided to go to the Heide House and the idea of a trip in 2015 was born.

This blog will be a place to share past, present and future holiday plans in and around Paris.
